			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Special congratulations are in order for Bruce who went through 8 years of training in Martial Arts and <a href="http://martialartsminneapolis.com/portfolio/brazilian-jiu-jitsu/" target="_blank">Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Minneapolis</a> and<strong> facing the finale in his 4.5 hour test looking stellar throughout</strong> (haha, ok, mostly stellar, as exhaustion kicks in eventually).<strong> Thank you too for our special guest Johnny Lansing for being here to guide, push, encourage Bruce through his travails.</strong> Johhny was here from Las Vegas for the second time for the testing. He himself was put through the black belt gauntlet test the first time he was out two years ago. Our family is growing and getting broader and stronger thanks to all the good people at McCune&#8217;s <a title="Martial Arts Minneapolis" href="http://martialartsminneapolis.com/portfolio/mixed-martial-arts-mma/" target="_blank">Martial Arts</a>. <span id="more-686"></span></p>
<p>Later in the evening, Bruces classmates and friends and family saluted (and roasted) him at the after party held at Sifu&#8217;s house. <strong>Libations, food, and friends were there to greet him as he was presented with his black belt certificate and his sword.</strong> Like the trooper he is, sore, tired and bruised Bruce still came in to train the following Monday. Further proof of why he earned his rank!</p>

<p><strong>Congrats, this was one of the biggest single events in our 9 year Minnesota History.</strong> I am very proud and humbled to have a student of Bruce&#8217;s caliber and integrity here at our <a title="Mixed Martial Arts Minneapolis" href="http://martialartsminneapolis.com/" target="_blank">Mixed Martial Arts school in Minneapolis</a>.

<h2>Neat Facts about San Soo</h2>
<ul>
<li>The      roots to Tsoi Li Ho Fut Hung, or San Soo as well know it, goes all the way      back 1500 years ago to the Temples in China.</li>
<li>Many      records of this martial arts form have either been lost or destroyed do      China’s rich history of constant upheaval.</li>
<li>With      so many different sub-divisions in China, there are many different types      of fighting styles that combine to make Kung Foo San Soo.</li>
<li>It’s      only because of their unique fighting skills that the monks and the      martial arts still exist.</li>
<li>Monks      are not the originators of Kung Fu. According to the Han and Tang Law,      soldiers in those times were not allowed to leave their positions unless      they died or entered monasteries. Because of this, many soldier left to      become monks and took their training with them, teaching other monks the      different techniques.</li>

<p>Follow these successful stretching strategies:</p>
<p><strong>When stretching, hold each stretch for about 30 seconds firmly, without bouncing </strong>(bouncing could lead to a pulled muscle). Because we know our bodies, we should be able to recognize our own limits, too, so make sure to not over stretch a muscle. When the pull feels too tight and starts to hurt, ease off on the length of your reach. The aim is to achieve a good stretch before you begin your Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training in Minneapolis, and afterwards for a proper cool down.</p>

<p>Starting in June, we will be offering Jiu Jitsu for the off season wrestlers or Kung Fu for self defense.<br />
<span style="text-decoration: underline;">DATES:</span> 12- week Jiu Jitsu program Tuesdays and Thursdays starting June 14th ending Aug 30th<br />
12- week Kung Fu Program Mondays and Wednesdays starting June 13th ending Aug 29th</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">TIMES: </span>Jiu Jitsu; 10:00-11:00am or 5:30-6:30pm<br />
Kung Fu; 5:30-6-30pm</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;">COST:</span> $220 includes FREE Gi (uniform) for classes</p>
<p>The Jiu Jitsu class is specifically designed for elementary students looking for off season grappling cross training.  The Kung Fu Class focuses on the self defense aspects of the martial arts.  All classes emphasize self control, respect, discipline and FUN!</p>
<p>Taught by 2009 World Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Champion and Kung Fu Master Chris McCune!</p>
